of that over a parking spot. >> wbal-tv 11 news. >> and tonight, a baltimore city fire paramedic has been suspended with pay. sean white has been charged with two counts of second degree assault. david collins joins us from fire headquarters downtown with the details. david? >> charging documents indicate the paramedic pushed the patient down, slapped her and grabbed her by the throat and some of the assault was captured on videotape. according to police, the paramedic assaulted and intoxicated woman. lycee it happened during a call to render aid. police accuse her of -- accused -- police accuse him of slapping the woman. these cameras captured some of the incident on tape. the firefighter chief disagrees with the police version of the incident. what did you see on the tape? to the 2900 block of woodland avenue in northwest baltimore. >> they arrived on the scene to find heavy fire and smoke conditions coming from the rear of that structure. we did learn that three of the occupants in the home escaped without any injury. unfortunately, one adult man did not. apparently, he perished in that fire. preliminarily, we believe it to be due to smoke inhalation and burns. >> the man's body was found on the first floor of the home. his family is still trying to deal with the shock of losing him. they say he was a huge sports fan, looking forward to sunday's game. >> it is just a hurting thing right now. yeah. we were supposed to met him over at the ravens game. we take turns at each other's house, having the ravens game. he won't be there. >> two firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the fire. one had a burn to his ear. the other was shocked by a downed power line. they were both taken to the hospital but are expected to be ok. firefighters will try to determine whether there were working smoke alarms in the home at the time of the fire. kim dacey, wbal-

, wbal-tv 11 news. >> and we're learning more tonight about the baltimore county man suspected of murdering his grandparents in the pipe mill home where they lived. it came out that he was found by authorities in oklahoma last week where he was being treated in the hospital. detectives in oklahoma are alleging that long was found unresponsive in at a motel room on tuesday morning, have been taken prescription pills. he shared a home with his grandparents and is now considered a suspect in their killing. >> the fbi has launched an investigation into several vandalism cases that appear to be targeting mosques in virginia. worshipers in harrisburg arrived at their weekly prayer service to find graffiti on the building, apparently including references to iraqis and "this is america." there is no indication whether this is in response to angry anti-u.s. protests in the muslim world. meanwhile, those protests seem to be escalating, spreading to more than a dozen countries in the middle east, including afghanistan. this has forces suffer more losses as the result of inciting attacks.
in northwest baltimore. bbltimore.it happened early yesterday morning... killing one man and injuring two fire firefighters.megan gilliland is here with a warning from firr officials. good morning guys,the fire broke out around 5 o'clock yesterday morning along woodlann avenue.neighbors saa they couldn't believe their ye. engulfed in fire the two fire fighters suffered minor injuries... but are expected to be okay.three others who were inside at the time were able to escape.butt one man was found dead on the first floor.they believe he died of smoke inhalation and burns. it's the sixth fatal fire in the city this year. just last weekend... firefighters went around installing free smoke detectors... after two people alarms. kevin 58:13 it's simple. just to call 311, smoke alarm is right at your fingertips and within two hours, firefighters will be at your home 21 3:10 it it's , hasn't been a happy morning, you know 15403 a real tragedy , a real tragedy 06 p6at this point... officials aren't sure if there were smoke alarms in this home. the name of the victim is not being released at this hour.
